Program:
Develop a new kitchen and mudroom from an existing kitchen and bedroom.
Project: Schematic design expanding the kitchen into the bedroom space leaving a walk-through mudroom as the service entrance. The kitchen redesign opens to the existing portal through a new pair of doors. The flow pattern triple connects back door, front yard and dining room. The kitchen work area is concentrated at the back leaving the front by the doors for counter and stools open to the portal in fair weather. A flow-through fireplace connects the kitchen with the dining area it serves.
